From the beginning, God’s plan was to have a people to call his own. In his first epistle, the apostle Peter wrote eloquently to the Christian church, describing it as a temple, a people, a priesthood, and a nation. Each of these expresses a role that God has given to the church, the body of Christ, to fulfill his plan.
